New Moon Ritual: Invoking and Emboding the Phoenix

Embodying the energy of the Phoenix invokes a deep and transformative expereince. The Phoenix represents rebirth, transformation, and rising from the ashes.

Here's a ritual to help you embody this powerful energy:

In this ritual we will be playing with fire and water:

Like all rituals, do what feels best for you in your practice, as always I shall provide some inspiration to get the maigck flowing.

Materials Needed:

1. A quiet and sacred space.

2. A red, orange, or gold candle to represent the Phoenix . (If you don’t have, you can speak and activate the candle with light language, or an invocation to call upon the Pheonix energy.)

3. A mirror.

4. A comfortable seat or cushion.

5. A small bowl of water.

6. A feather

7. A journal and pen.

8. Incense, to clear awak the old and see the visualization of the smoke, of that which is being released so you can rise.

9. Crystals to include: Carnelian, Selenite, Citrine

Step-by-Step Ritual:

1. Prepare Your Sacred Space: Create a sacred space by cleaning and using smoke to clear the energy. Use sound to clear the space, a bell works great or speak the words: “May all the old energy release and may this space be clean and clear”

2. Light the Phoenix Candle: Begin by lighting the red, orange, or gold candle while reciting an affirmation, such as, "I embrace the Phoenix energy within me, ready for transformation and rebirth."

3. Mirror Gazing: Sit comfortably in front of the mirror. Gaze into your own eyes and reflect on your life journey and the changes you wish to make. Visualize the Phoenix rising within you, symbolizing the transformation you seek. You may see your own reflection as that of a Phoenix.

4. Feather Ritual: Hold the feather in your hand, close your eyes, and take a few deep breaths feel the medicine that the feather invokes. Imagine the feather as a symbol of the Phoenix's wings. Open your eyes and pass the feather above the candle flame, symbolizing the Phoenix's fiery nature. Then, gently brush it over your body, starting at your toes and moving upwards. Visualize the feather releasing old energy and helping you to rise anew.

5. Meditation and Affirmations: Close your eyes and enter a meditative state. Imagine yourself engulfed in flames of transformation, feeling the old patterns, beliefs, and emotions burning away. Affirm aloud or in your mind, "I release the past, and I am reborn."

6. Water Cleansing: Dip your fingers into the bowl of water and sprinkle a few drops over your face, as if cleansing away the old and inviting a fresh start. Cooling the fire, seeing the red turn to a crystalline blue.

7. Journaling: After the meditation, open your eyes and write in your journal. Reflect on what you experienced during the mirror gazing, feather ritual, and meditation. Write down your intentions for transformation and rebirth. Be specific about the changes you wish to make in your life.

8. Express Gratitude: Thank the Phoenix energy for its guidance and support in your transformation journey.

9. Closing: Blow out the Phoenix candle, symbolizing the end of the ritual. You can keep the feather as a symbol of your commitment to transformation.

10. Integration: Over the coming days and weeks, continue to work on the changes you've set in motion during the ritual. Use your journal to track your progress and reflect on your journey.

This ritual should help you embody the energy of the Phoenix and set the stage for personal transformation and rebirth. Remember that transformation takes time, so be patient with yourself as you work toward your goals. When we do deep alchemical rituals on New Moons, set the intention to reflect six months from the ritual to see how much has transformed since the seeds were planted.
